UAACC was founded by Mzee Pete O’Neal and Mama Charlotte Hill O’Neal who were born in Kansas City in the U.S.A. Original members of the Black Panther Party (Kansas City Chapter), the O’Neal’s have been living in Tanzania since 1972 and in Imbaseni Village for more than three decades. There, they have continued to apply the values of building community and nurturing the greatest potential in under-served youth. UAACC’s motto is Sharing Knowledge for Community Development and this is aptly reflected in the many community outreach programs that are provided for youth and elders in the surrounding area. WATER TANK:Mama Charlotte Hill O’Neal, aka Mama C, returns to the United States each year to raise funds to continue the valuable work of UAACC.  This year it is imperative that funds be raised to refurbish UAACC’s water tank that provides clean water for the entire population of Imbaseni Village. Without this water tank, women and children (in their traditional duty) will be forced to spend many hours a day carrying water in buckets on their heads for many miles. Several years ago, with the help of their late comrade, Geronimo ji Jaga and his KUJI Foundation, UAACC dug a well on their grounds. This enabled more than 500 families the opportunity to get a steady supply of water on a regular basis without having to resort to miles and miles of walking effort. TEATRO LATEA:Teatro LATEA’s Mission is to foster, preserve and promote the contributions made by Latinos primarily in the performing arts with the aim to inspire, nurture, challenge, amaze, educate and empower artists and audiences. Teatro LATEA origins began in 1982 when the late Nelson Tamayo (Ecuador), Mateo Gomez (Dominican Republic) and two years later Nelson Landrieu (Uruguay) joined forces  in what was to become a long journey for the award-winning veteran film, television and print actors, who wanted to give back to their community.  For more Info: www.TeatroLatea.com PRODUCED BYMaya Azucena, Alex Moore Productions PROMOTIONAL SPONSORSTeatro Latea, Livelyhood Events, New Black Arts Movement, Scientific Soul Session, Movement In Motion

PSP Weekly Community Culture & Political Education Class Tonight Oct. 8th With Bro. Shaka Shakur  (7pm-9:30pm)

TONIGHT! AS PART OF OUR STUDY ON THE TOPIC OF SOCIALIZATION AND THE EFFECTS OF SYSTEMATIC COLONIZATION. WE WILL VIEW THE FILM:

The movie is based on the infamous “Stanford Prison Experiment” conducted in 1971. A makeshift prison is set up in a research lab, complete with cells, bars and surveillance cameras. For two weeks 20 male participants are hired to play prisoners and guards. The
‘prisoners’ are locked up and have to follow seemingly mild rules, and the ‘guards’ are told simply to retain order without using physical violence. Everybody is free to quit at any time, thereby forfeiting payment. In the beginning the mood between both groups is insecure and rather emphatic. But soon quarrels arise and the wardens employ ever more drastic sanctions to confirm their authority.
